Self-Catering Accommodation Explained
What is self-catering accommodation?
Self-Catering accommodation is usually a holiday home or an apartment that is fully equipped with cooking facilities, cutlery, crockery etc. The self-catering aspect of this type of accommodation is that it is not serviced daily and any consumables like tea, coffee, toilet paper etc. that may be supplied as a starter pack, but are not replenished during your stay. Once these items are used you will need to purchase more yourself.
What’s the difference between a hotel room and a serviced apartment?
Serviced apartments are usually individually owned apartments within a resort complex. As these apartments are independently owned they will also be furnished differently. Especially some of the older resorts were the original furniture package has been replaced over the years. The Resort management do not own the apartments and can only offer suggestions in regards to apartment renovations or updates to the owners. The best thing about the individually furnished apartments is it gives a great sense of a “home away from home” feeling. Also if you visit the same property regularly you get to experience different apartment styles while enjoying all of the facilities that you love.
A hotel room is generally owned by the company that runs the entire hotel and has a standard furniture package in every room. A hotel room usually only consists of a bed, bathroom, mini fridge a desk and a TV. These rooms will be daily serviced with fresh linens, towels toiletries, tea, coffee etc.
What is supplied in a serviced apartment?
Our apartments are fully self-contained with full cooking facilities, full sized fridge, crockery, cutlery, and laundry facilities (washing machine & dryer). On arrival, your apartment will have been professionally cleaned and supplied with fresh linen and towels. The apartments available at Enderley Gardens Resort are a one or two bedroom, with separate bathroom, lounge and dining area. For stays longer than 8 nights Enderley Gardens Resort offers a mini service consisting of a linen change, fresh towels, hand towels, bath mat, and a tea towel.
A small complimentary starter pack is also provided in our Apartments with Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Milk, Laundry Liquid, Dishwashing liquid, soap, and toilet tissue (1roll per bathroom). Once these items are used they are not replenished.
What is required on departure?
All that we ask from our guests prior to departure is to leave the apartment in a tidy manner, any used dishes are washed, dried and put back in the cupboards and any rubbish is removed from the apartment. Unlike a hotel room apartments are a LOT bigger to have cleaned and any excess cleaning (i.e. rubbish removal, washing up etc.) requirements really put a strain on keeping our housekeeping schedule. Any additional cleaning over and above our standard room clean may attract fees.
